project manager - Farmer Advice
Impact Terra is a fast growing agricultural, financial and big-data technology social enterprise. We offer free digital services to smallholder farmers and agricultural/financial stakeholders through our Golden Paddy platform.
We are looking for a motivated and self-driven project manager with an interest in agriculture and content development. You will have the opportunity to directly impact the lives of millions of smallholder farmers in Myanmar and potentially other Southeast Asian countries. You will be responsible for the creation of farming advice that the Golden Paddy platform spreads directly to smallholder farmers. You will be based in Yangon, Myanmar with the opportunity to travel to the field regularly to interact with the farmers. This is not your typical 9 to 5 job but an exciting opportunity to be part of an innovative solution to increase crop production and food security and improve the livelihoods of smallholder farmers.
Oversee the farming knowledge content development process from start to finish (i.e. creation, review/validation, translation, and upload)
Supervise and create crop calendars for local crop varieties
Manage development of knowledge content that corresponds to agronomic alerts/notifications sent by Golden Paddy’s crop simulation models
Collaborate with local and international agronomic experts to validate agronomy content (particularly agricultural practices such as plant nutrition and pest/disease management)
Analyze user engagement to help guide content development
Report to Impact Terra’s management team
Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture
Excellent command of Burmese and English
Minimum of 3 years of relevant working experience
Experience with project management, target setting and performance management
Strong ICT skills (e.g. mobile apps, Microsoft Office)
Attention to detail
Highly motivated to quickly learn and pick up new skills
Initiative and solution focused
