Impact Terra was founded in January 2016 by Erwin Sikma. In the same month we started with the technical development of the Golden Paddy Mobile Application. In March, the Minimal Viable Product (MVP) was completed and the first tests were conducted in Shan State, the most important agriculture state of Myanmar.

The first beta product was ready in May. From August until November we scaled up to several hundred app users, we increased the sourcing and production of content, had frequent product sprints and expanded our team.

In December, we went live on Facebook and made the app available on Google Playstore. In January 2017, we started collecting market prices in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture of Myanmar, and soon after we were present on the ground when the Retailer and Promotor team kicked off in Shan State. Currently we are present in 96 percent of all the townships in Myanmar, and we have a monthly reach of 2 million people.
